Geist Customised Leather Dye
We are introducing Geist customised leather dye for automotive enthusiasts who want to transform their vehicles’ interiors with a fresh look. The product is explicitly designed for automotive leather surfaces; our custom leather paint delivers exceptional colour vibrancy, durability, and flexibility. It is effortless, so you don’t need any experience to perform the job. It is a single-stage product, so you don’t need a top coat etc. However, you will also need leather cleaner, leather cleaning brush, sanding pads and solvent cleaner.
How to order the leather paint?
To get the most accurate match of the colour, we mix the paint with a sample of leather. We have selected the most popular colours for the following car makes; Audi, VW, BMW, Mercedes and Porshe. You can find these on our website. But if we don’t have the desired colour, we can still mix it for you. All we need is a sample of your leather. Most of our customers send us headrests from their cars, so we match the colour to the headrest. In some vehicles, there may be overhangs of leather underneath the rear seat that you can cut off and send to us. Then we will match your leather dye to it. Or you can call over to us with the car and we will match it while you wait. However, always call us before coming to check whether we are available mix customised leather dye.
How to use customised leather dye?
Using customised leather dye can help restore or change the colour of your vehicle’s leather upholstery. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to use car leather dye effectively:
Prepare the Leather: Clean the leather surface thoroughly using a leather cleaner, mild soap, and warm water. Remove any dirt, grime, or previous coatings from the leather. Allow the leather to dry completely before proceeding.
Test the Dye: Before applying the dye to the entire leather surface, it’s crucial to perform a patch test on a small, inconspicuous area. This test ensures that the dye is compatible with your specific leather and achieves the desired colour outcome.
Gather the Supplies: Ensure you have all the necessary supplies, including car leather dye (in the desired colour), gloves, lint-free cloths or applicator pads, a small brush or sponge, and masking tape to protect surrounding areas.
Apply the Dye: Shake the leather dye bottle well to ensure the colour is evenly mixed. Start by applying a small amount of dye to the sponge. Apply the dye in thin, even coats, working in one section at a time. Use gentle, smooth strokes to avoid streaks or uneven application.
Work in Layers: For best results, applying multiple thin coats of dye rather than one heavy coat is recommended. Allow each coat to dry completely before applying the next. This approach helps achieve a more even and professional-looking finish.
Condition and Protect: After the final coat of dye has dried, you may apply a leather conditioner or finisher to enhance the colour and provide additional protection.
