Practical Skills Development Course | Beginner to Intermediate Level

About This Training Course

Our 2-Day Professional Machine Polishing & Ceramic Coating Training is a structured, hands-on vocational training programme designed for individuals who want to develop practical skills in automotive paint correction and ceramic coating application.

Whether you are considering a career in professional car detailing, planning to start your own detailing business, or already working in the industry and looking to improve your techniques and efficiency, this course provides a strong foundation for further professional development.

The programme combines essential machine polishing principles with an introduction to more advanced techniques, including Dual Action (DA), gear-driven and rotary polishing machines.

Participants will also learn the fundamentals of ceramic coating preparation and application, working with both entry-level and more advanced professional coating systems.

Our approach is simple: understanding the process, developing correct techniques, and learning how to work safely and efficiently.

We focus on practical knowledge, not unrealistic promises. Two days of training will not make anyone a master detailer. However, it can provide the knowledge, guidance and practical experience needed to start developing professional skills or improve existing working methods.

Who Is This Course Suitable For?

This training programme is suitable for:

  • Beginners and future detailers who want to learn correct machine polishing techniques and are considering a career or business in automotive detailing.
  • Existing detailers who want to improve their paint correction skills, machine control, working methods and overall efficiency.
  • Valeters and automotive professionals who want to expand their services by developing machine polishing and ceramic coating application skills.
  • Individuals interested in ceramic coatings who want to understand correct surface preparation, coating selection and professional application procedures.

Previous machine polishing experience is not required. Training is adapted to participants’ existing knowledge and practical abilities.

Our Training Philosophy – Technique Before Products

At OCD Detailing, we believe that professional results come from understanding the process rather than simply using expensive equipment or products.

There is no single polishing machine, pad or compound combination that works perfectly on every vehicle.

Throughout the training, we explain how to assess paint condition, choose appropriate equipment, test different combinations and adapt working methods to achieve effective results.

We also focus on efficiency. Learning to achieve a suitable level of paint correction in a reasonable amount of time is an important skill for anyone considering professional detailing as a business.

What Can You Expect After Completing the Course?

By the end of this two-day training programme, participants should have developed a better understanding of:

  • Safe machine polishing principles and equipment operation.
  • The practical differences between DA, gear-driven and rotary polishers.
  • Basic paint correction and an introduction to advanced correction techniques.
  • Correct selection of polishing pads and compounds.
  • Efficient working methods and realistic paint correction expectations.
  • Ceramic coating preparation, application and maintenance requirements.

Important: This is an introductory and intermediate-level vocational skills development course. It provides supervised practical training and foundational knowledge, but it does not guarantee professional competency or mastery of all detailing techniques within two days.

Further independent practice and experience are essential to develop advanced professional skills.

Training Certificate

Participants who complete the full training programme will receive an OCD Detailing Certificate of Attendance, confirming participation in the two-day training.

The certificate recognises attendance and training completed. It is not a professional licence, formal qualification, independent competency assessment or authorisation to deliver training to others.
