Those larger rips and holes in leather which are still repairable must be stabilised by backlining them with cloth. Cut the cloth into the required shape, slightly bigger than the hole on the leather and mark the centre with a felt tip pen or a small sticker. The marking helps you to recognize the centre and ensure consistent overlapping. Fix the centre with a needle and spread the edges evenly under the leather with a spatula. Then stick with glue.

COLOURLOCK Grain Maker Kit is a unique tool which helps achieve invisible repairs on leather. Use the grain maker kit to create a mould or copy the grains from an undamaged area on your leather car seat, sofa, settee, etc. Use this grain to emboss the repaired area before or after applying COLOURLOCK Leather Fresh dye or spraying leather colours. One kit can be used to create a minimum of 4 round grains of roughly 7cm in diameter. The kit comes with a seal for the tube to avoid the contents from drying.
